Have questions about the ICTP?
Find answers to the most frequently asked questions below.
1. What is the Industry Clean-Tech Platform?
The Industry Clean-Tech Platform, or ICTP, is a one-stop-shop designed to connect industries with clean, energy-efficient technologies, solution providers, energy experts and financing-related opportunities. The platform aims to bridge the gap between supply and demand for clean technologies by helping industries identify suitable solutions, make informed decisions and access relevant knowledge and support.
2. Who can use the platform?
ICTP is intended for several groups working to accelerate energy-efficient and low-carbon industrial development. These include:
- industrial users looking for clean-tech solutions, energy experts, knowledge resources or support;
- clean-tech providers wishing to present their technologies and services;
- energy experts offering relevant technical expertise;
- financial institutions interested in supporting industrial clean-tech and energy-efficiency investments;
- partners, policymakers and technical institutions involved in industrial energy transition.
3. What can industries use ICTP for?
Industries can use ICTP to explore relevant clean-tech solutions, identify pre-qualified providers, learn from knowledge resources, and express interest in further support. Depending on the country window and available services, industries may also be connected to capacity-building activities, technical assistance, matchmaking support and financing-related pathways.
4. How can industries find suitable technology providers?
Industries can browse the platform’s database or directory of clean-tech providers and solutions. The platform is intended to help industries identify suitable companies and technologies and, where relevant, request introductions or follow-up support through ICTP.
5. Can industries contact technology providers directly through ICTP?
Industries may request contact or an introduction to a listed provider through the platform. This helps ICTP track demand, support follow-up and understand which solutions are generating interest. For any commercial discussions, technical proposals or contracts, the relevant parties remain responsible for their own agreements.
6. How can technology suppliers register on ICTP?
Technology suppliers can register or submit an expression of interest through the platform where the relevant sign-up route is available. The supplier information is then reviewed in line with ICTP’s supplier selection approach before a provider is accepted or listed.
7. Are technology providers verified?
Technology providers listed on ICTP are reviewed prior to inclusion based a set of criteria developed in collaboration with the Technical Working Groups (TWGs). The criteria for supplier selection cover areas such as product quality and performance, sustainability, compliance, financial and operational strength, innovation, delivery capacity, customer support, market reputation, and value creation.
8. What types of clean technologies are available on ICTP?
ICTP focuses on clean, energy-efficient and low-carbon technologies and services relevant to industrial users. The exact range of technologies available will depend on the country, sector and providers listed on the platform.
9. Does ICTP offer financing opportunities?
ICTP is designed to facilitate access to financing-related pathways, instruments and partners where available. This may include connecting industries with financial institutions, supporting investment case development, or providing information on relevant financing and grant opportunities. However, ICTP does not itself guarantee financing approval.
10. What countries are covered by ICTP?
ICTP currently focuses on selected EELA country windows, including Kenya, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The model is intended to be scalable and may be expanded to additional countries or regions over time.
11. Is ICTP free to use?
Public information and resources on ICTP are available to users free of charge. Some platform features, such as creating a profile, submitting a registration, requesting contact with a provider, or accessing specific support pathways, may require registration or review by the ICTP team.
ICTP does not charge users simply to browse public platform content. However, any commercial agreement, technical service, financing arrangement, grant application or project implementation activity involving third parties is subject to the terms agreed directly between the relevant organisations.
12. Does ICTP endorse or guarantee listed providers?
No. ICTP aims to provide a curated and reviewed platform, but users remain responsible for their own commercial and investment decisions.
13. What happens after I submit a registration or request?
After a registration, expression of interest or contact request is submitted, the ICTP team or relevant host institution may review the information, request clarification where needed, and determine the appropriate next step. For providers, this may involve review before listing. For industrial users, this may involve follow-up, supplier contact, training, technical support or finance-related discussion depending on the request.
14. Can ICTP help with audits, diagnostics or technical assistance?
ICTP is designed to support industries with access to technical expertise, capacity development and, where relevant, technical assistance.
15. How can financial institutions participate?
Financial institutions can engage with ICTP by sharing relevant financing products, discussing financing requirements for industrial clean-tech investments, and participating in finance pathways or referrals where appropriate. Please feel free to get in touch with us via the “Contact us” form.
16. How is my data used?
ICTP uses the information you provide to operate the platform, manage submissions, respond to inquiries, improve services and support relevant communications where consent has been provided. Please refer to the ICTP Privacy Policy for further information.
19. How can I contact the ICTP team?
For general inquiries, please contact the ICTP team through the website contact form or by email at info@industrycleantechplatform.com.
